How we choose

Fewer places, all of them real.

A guide is only as good as what it leaves out. Here's how a place gets in.

  1. It has to exist where we say it does.Each place is checked against its own page and its map listing before it goes in.
  2. It has to be worth a stop.We write the one line on why. If we can't, it doesn't make the list.
  3. Nobody pays to be in it.Being in the guide can't be bought. Travellers never pay either.
  4. Hours we're not sure of, we say so.When opening hours come from a listing rather than the place itself, the app marks them as unverified.
